Hildur
The sorority Hildur was founded in 2003 with a view to functioning as a meetin-place for currently and formerly active female students from Helsingkrona nation. The sorority is thought on one hand to be a platform for exchange of knowledge and experience, on the other to encourage female participation and involvement in the nation as well as in the rest of the society.

The symbol of the sorority is a golden braid. The braid is associated with femininity, but also represents strength and close friendship. For the sorority Hildur the golden braid represents the importance of strengthening friendships that will last also in the future.
The name Hildur was chosen in honour of one of the first female members og Helsingkrona nation, Hildur Sandberg från Ängelholm (1881-1904). Hildur was active both socially and politically during her medical studies. With some of her peers she founded Lunds Female Student Association, an association aiming towards closer relations between female students in Lund. Hildur was a bold social democrat and feminist who took part in the Labour Movement at an early stage, although she herself came from a family that was rather well-off.
Hildur Sandberg became known for her enterprising spirit and progressive thoughts, but also for her cheerful mood and great open-heartedness. Hopefully, these qualities will characterize the sorority aswell.
